Are you a creative? Do you spend a lot of time sitting whilst being creative? Oh you do. Then do yourself a favour and toss that comfy office chair you sit in. Ask yourself this question: Why would I want to be super comfortable while I create?
I don’t. I shouldn’t. I want to be energized, shuffle, move, be on edge, excited. I don’t want to be sanitized, subdued, placid… comfortable. In fact, I don’t want to spend my day sitting.
I am imposing a twenty-five image limit on my photography outings. I remember that when I shot analog with my Nikon FE and a roll of 25 exposure film, my photography was so much more deliberate. Now with digital I just shoot shoot shoot!
The result? Two hundred+ images of sub-par images with about twenty-five real keepers, but for the life of me I can’t find those twenty-five because I have about four almost exact copies of each of those twenty-five because of digital and it’s non wastage ethos, I can’t decide. Which all equals more time behind the computer and not behind the lens. More indecision. I’m done!
So starts the 25 exposure digital self imposed limit of deliberate photography! Goodbye happy snapper.
